Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 78 degrees.

SUNDAY: I expect surf heights to increase into the thigh-high range during mid-morning’s high tide push. Light offshore winds will produce clean lines.
THIS WEEK: Watch for fun waves in the waist-high range this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, then again for next weekend.

Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966. He was also the first to surf several of North Carolina’s remote islands in the mid ’60s and travels frequently to surf in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii. He provided his first surf reporting and weekend forecasts in 1968 live on WKKO radio from the RonJon Surf Shop on Cocoa Beach Pier. He was the 1968 Florida Men’s Surfing Champion and is the current Florida Legend’s Surfing Champion. He has gathered over 300 amateur 1st place awards in both shortboard and longboard divisions. He is a 2014 Inductee into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame.
