ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF KNIGHTS) – UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White announced today that UCF’s home American Athletic Conference game with Memphis will be played Sept. 30 at Spectrum Stadium.
The game had originally been scheduled for Sept. 9 and was moved to Sept. 8 in advance of Hurricane Irma before ultimately being called off.
“We owe a huge thank you to Karlton Creech and Joe Harasymiak at Maine for their helpfulness and understanding with this situation,” White said.
“Of course, this wouldn’t have happened without great input and assistance from Mike Aresco, Scott Draper and others in our conference office. Tom Bowen and Mike Norvell also deserve a thank you from us for being open to making this game happen.”
Head coach Scott Frost’s Knights were originally scheduled to open action in The American with Memphis.
UCF will still do so, just three weeks later than expected.
“I know how hard Danny White and our administration worked to make this game happen,” Frost said.
“Thank you to Mike Aresco and the American Athletic Conference staff for their hard work in helping us reschedule this important game. I greatly appreciate the willingness of all the parties involved to jump in and come up with a creative solution. We’re looking forward to hosting Memphis at Spectrum Stadium.”
Season-ticket holders with a season ticket card will not be affected. Those with tickets in Roth Tower suites, Field Cabanas or the Roth Tower club should use tickets dated Sept. 30. All parking passes for the rescheduled Memphis game will utilize parking passes dated Sept. 30. Single-game tickets for the originally-scheduled Sept. 8/9 Memphis game will need to be exchanged for a Sept. 30 ticket. For all other ticket-related questions, please call 407.823.1000 when normal operations resume on campus at 9 a.m. Friday or email email@example.com.
Kickoff time and television details for UCF-Memphis will be announced as soon as possible.
In addition to the re-scheduling of the Memphis contest, White said UCF is also looking for an opponent that could replace Maine on the schedule.
