BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers (5-3) travel north to take on the Atlantic Sharks (0-8) at Spruce Creek High School’s stadium in Port Orange Thursday night in a game broadcasted on Space Coast Daily TV.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

With playoff hopes on the line for Melbourne Central Catholic, the Hustlers must win out to keep their playoff hopes alive. Currently sitting in sixth place (36.29) in Class 3A Region 2, the Hustlers are one-point behind the last qualifying playoff spot, held by fourth place Taylor (Pierson) with a 37.29 point average.

Should MCC win Thursday against Atlantic (0-8), they would receive 35 points for a grand total of 289 points for 8 games played which calculates to an average of 36.13 point average.

Should MCC lose, they would only receive 15 points for a grand total 269 points in 8 games which calculates to an average of 33.63. Essentially, eliminating MCC’s hopes for a 2017 playoff berth.

MCC quarterback Joaquin Collazo and his Hustlers offense have been on a tear, as of late, with a combined 84 points scored in the last two games since Collazo’s return from a hand injury earlier in the year.

The Hustlers enter Thursday night’s game coming off a dominating road victory over South Fork last week 42-7.

Atlantic, winless on the year, is giving up nearly 54-points a game, while only averaging 8-points a game on offense.

Class 3A Region 2 Standings as of Oct. 25, 2017, prepared by the FHSSA.

For MCC to make the playoffs, they need:

**Need Taylor (Pierson) lose to Crescent City (5-3), and/or to Keystone Heights (2-5)…

**and Trinity Prep lose to Halifax (4-4) and/or lose to Space Coast (3-4)…

**and Cardinal Newman lose to Glades Central (5-2) and/or to West Boca Raton (3-4)

MCC Hustlers host Fort Pierce Central (2-4) next week for Senior Night from Hustlers Stadium.

Space Coast Daily’s Zach Clark and Graham McGowan will provide play-by-play coverage from Port Orange on Space Coast Daily TV.
