FLORIDA – A commercial fishing vessel pulling stone crab traps out of the water caught the attention of Florida Fish and Wildlife officers.

As Officers Way and Messier approached the vessel to conduct a fisheries inspection, the operator began dumping wrung lobster tails overboard.

Before he could continue to dump any more illegal catch, FWC officers boarded the violator’s vessel and found another 41 wrung lobster tails hidden in the engine compartment.

The suspect was charged accordingly and will have to appear in court for the violations.
