BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The defending back-to-back state champion Cocoa Tigers defeated no. 3 Newberry Panthers in the FHSAA 2A Regional Finals at Dick Blake Stadium on Friday.

The FHSAA State Semifinals are set for December 6; kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers are 9-3 this season.

Cocoa is ranked the no. 49 team in the nation and no. 21 in Florida, according to MaxPreps.com

Along the way, Cocoa has defeated Newberry, Berkeley Prep, and Lake Placid.
