Dead Body, Vehicle Pulled From West Melbourne Pond By Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team

West Melbourne Police and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team have recovered a dead body that was found floating in a pond at Whispering Winds subdivision on Dairy Road and Peaceful Place on Wednesday. (WFTV Image)

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – West Melbourne Police and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team have recovered a dead body that was found floating in a pond at Whispering Winds subdivision on Dairy Road and Peaceful Place on Wednesday.

Investigators say the BCSO Dive Team recovered a black male around 11:30 a.m. and a submerged vehicle in the pond that was around 60 feet from the bank of the water.

Sgt. Michelle Page of the West melbourne Police Department said the vehicle was a Nissan Sentra and was recently reported stolen in Palm Bay.

Authorities are not releasing the man’s identity until the family has been properly notified.

Police say they are still investigating the matter and believe the man was the only one in the vehicle when the car entered the water.
