BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police Department 911 Dispatcher Wendy Luszczewski has been with the department for more than 10 years and during this time she has been recognized for numerous awards.

“It is easy to understand why Wendy is held in such high regard, not only based on her merit but her humble, kind, and gentle nature,” said MPD officials in a tribute on social media.

“Wendy has served as a Certified Training Officer with the Communications Division, for her devotion to providing excellent customer service.”

Luszczewski was recently accepted as an active member of the department’s Incident Dispatch Team. She has been awarded Communication Officer of the year 2008 and Melbourne Applause Award.

Luszczewski was recognized as Employee of the Month July 2017 for her exemplary performance for talking with a suicidal subject and providing information to medical units which assisted in providing life-saving measures.

“Wendy has been recognized for her excellence to duty during Hurricane Irma and President Trump visit,” said MPD officials.

Luszczewski has been a Florida resident for more than 30 years and lives in Melbourne with her husband and mother, and her precious rescue dog Schatzi and three rescue kitties.

When she is not working and wants a night out you will see her at her favorite local spot, Matt’s Casbah, eating Sushi. More than likely she will be out rescuing another little fur baby in need.

“She performs her job with such dedication, compassion, and professionalism, as do the entire team at the Communications Center,” said the tribute. “Moreover, she has such a warm and loving heart, we are fortunate to have her as our colleague and more importantly, as our friend.”
