Florida Tech Francisco Tabbed SSC Defensive Player of the Week After Record Setting Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Sunshine State Conference has named Florida Tech men’s lacrosse’s Jax Francisco SSC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, Apr. 13.

Jax Francisco, a redshirt senior from Westminster, Maryland, wins his fourth SSC Defensive Player of the Week award and second consecutive as he won the award the week of Mar. 9, Mar. 23, and Apr. 6.

This week, Francisco had 12 saves in the win against Florida Southern and 11 saves in the win against Palm Beach Atlantic. He allowed only 14 goals this week, bringing his opponent’s total under double digits for nine consecutive games.

Francisco’s historic season continued as he is now the Sunshine State Conference all-time leader in saves with 688 and counting. He currently is fourth in the country with a save percentage of .616. Additionally, he is 12th in NCAA Division II with 159 saves this season.

Francisco and the rest of the Panthers will be back in action against No. 3 Tampa on Wednesday, Apr. 15.

The game will decide the winner of the SSC Regular Season Title.
