ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) –The first Associated Press Top 25 Poll of the 2018 season was announced Monday, and UCF came in at 21st in the nation. Also ranked 23rd in the Preseason Coaches Poll, this marks the first time in the history of the program that the Knights have been a consensus Top 25 team heading into the season.

UCF, which went 13-0, won the American Athletic Conference Championship, and took home the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl en route to a National Championship in 2017, opened up the 2018 AP Poll with 312 points.

Since 2005, UCF has been ranked or receiving votes in The AP Poll in nine different seasons, which includes Top 25 finishes in 2010, 2013 and 2017. The Knights ended last season ranked sixth in the AP Top 25 Poll with 1,248 points and four first place votes.
