Travis Proctor Presented 2019 Distinguished Service Award During Cocoa Beach Chamber Gala

Travis Proctor, CEO of Artemis IT, was presented the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce 2019 Distinguished Service Award. The announcement came at the chamber’s sold out 51st Annual Gala at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Travis Proctor, CEO of Artemis IT, was presented the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce 2019 Distinguished Service Award.

The announcement came at the chamber’s sold out 51st Annual Gala at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa.

“I am humbled and honored to be inducted into this esteemed group of individuals within our community,” said Travis Proctor.

“They have led by example, provided mentorship, and offered friendship to me and so many others. Their actions demonstrate the importance of engaging, fostering, and building our community. If we each could assist just one person to improve his or her station in life, imagine the impact.”

The Distinguished Service Award has been awarded by the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber each year since 1985 and represents a community-minded individual who has provided consistent and unrelenting efforts with their time, talent and treasure on the Space Coast.

Travis is an active member of the community and serves on several community and company boards with his time, talent and treasure.

He is the current Chair of the Civilian Military Council, Chair of Brevard Achievement Center, Treasurer of Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Treasurer-elect of the Salvation Army and sits on the Board of Florida Tech, Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and Junior Achievement to name a few.

Travis founded Artemis IT in 1995 while a sophomore at Florida Tech. Artemis currently employs over 50 employees and provides IT management and consulting services to clients throughout the Central Florida region from its office in Melbourne.

The new Chairman of the Board, Linda Webster-Dubea with Florida Power & Light Company was inducted, as well as the 2019 Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

“The Chamber’s Power of Partnership themed gala was a wonderful event to kick off a new year of opportunity and growth for our community,” said Webster-Dubea.

The Chamber reflected on its 51-year history and kicked off the 50th anniversary of the walk on the moon and celebrated the past and future in space with Capt. Jon McBride, former NASA astronaut as the Master of Ceremonies and Emmy award winner, journalist and author, Jay Barbree as the keynote speaker.

The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce was established in 1968 as a voice for Brevard’s business community and serves Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Patrick Air Force Base, Port St. John, Rockledge, Palm Shores, Suntree and Viera.
