Promise in Brevard Announces Co-Founder Betsy Farmer’s Departure From Organization

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Promise, Inc. announced Betsy Farmer, co-founder and director of development, departed from her position on March 12.
“The Board of Directors cannot thank Betsy enough for her tireless effort to make the community of Promise a reality,” said Board Chair Dr. Lori Nelson Bradstreet. “We will forever be grateful.”
Farmer stepped down from her position as executive director in fall 2018 and took on the role of director of development after hiring Nan Evans, who currently serves as CEO.
Evans, a licensed CPA in New Mexico, has 20 years experience in executive management, accounting and strategic planning.
The continued development team includes Tammy Farmer, marketing and communications manager and Donna McWilliams, development and event manager. Both have worked side by side with Farmer over the years.

The board, staff and Promise families will continue to honor Farmer by keeping the vision to empower our residents to live a life never thought possible.
Promise, Inc., was established in 2009 and offers unique housing opportunities for adults with disabilities, as well as vocational training, employment opportunities, and a wide range of life enrichment activities.
Promise also operates Promise Treasures Thrift Shoppe. Both are located in West Melbourne, Florida.
