Two Masked Men Arrested After Chasing Down Victim In Melbourne, Beating Him

Both men held at Brevard Jail on No Bond

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, with help from Melbourne Police K-9 unit, have arrested two men after the suspects chased a man down and beat him for allegedly taking an item belonging to one of the suspects.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, with help from Melbourne Police K-9 unit, have arrested two men after the suspects chased a man down and beat him for allegedly taking an item belonging to one of the suspects.

Deputies identified the suspects as 19-year-old Tristan Tucker from Satellite Beach and 32-year-old Travis Curran from Valencia, California.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation has revealed that Curran traveled from California to Brevard County where he was going to help Tucker in a plan to confront the victim and take the items he believed had been taken from him.

On Tuesday, investigators say the suspects traveled to the area of Caroline St. and Aurora Rd. in Melbourne where they observed the victim walking along the roadway around 11:58 p.m.

When the victim saw the suspects in ski masks, he ran to a residence where he had been staying.

After chasing the victim to the residence they began beating the victim and demanding he return the stolen property.

Witnesses called police after they heard and observed the altercation.

Both suspects fled the scene and a search was conducted by members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Melbourne Police Department.

Eventually, the suspects were found hiding in the woods by a Melbourne Police K9.

After searching the area, authorities recovered a silver .380 caliber handgun where the men were last seen running. A gun holster was also located in the rear seat of the suspects’ vehicle.

Both men have been charged with Attempted Robbery with a Firearm, Armed Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling and Battery.

The suspects are currently in the Brevard County Jail where they are being held on a No Bond status.
