Boarding Option Available

For students interested in checking out the college lifestyle, Florida Prep has added a boarding option that includes the choice of one of the above workshops with the added experience of dorm living.

The boarding program, which operates concurrently with the workshops, is expected to attract students from around the world, which gives local students the opportunity to experience cultural diversity and make friends on a global scale.

For working parents, the boarding program also provides a stress-free summer with the knowledge that their children are fully involved in completely supervised activities that will enhance their lives.

“Having children at home when at work full-time can sometimes be a worry for parents,” said Middleton. “The boarding option allows for that worry to go away.”

Parents can feel secure that their child is being supervised 24/7 as their student enjoys the adventure of being away from home, making friends with their peers from other countries without having to leave their hometown.

The experience can be extended with Florida Prep’s Florida Adventure Road Trip, scheduled from Aug. 3 to 10. From alligators to amusement parks, from shopping to museums, the all-inclusive trip packs a full week of adventures in the Sunshine State for an additional $1,500.

Preparing Leaders of Tomorrow

Since its launch in 1961, Florida Preparatory Academy, formerly Florida Air Academy, has earned a reputation as a school that prepares the leaders of tomorrow.

The co-educational institution attracts young men and women from around the United States and from 22 countries. Although international in scope, the school takes pride in a “hometown” atmosphere that nurtures global citizens who will be comfortable with and accepting of other cultures.

Students are encouraged to be independent, responsible individuals, but staff and faculty are there for them 24/7 to guide them and provide support.

“They develop planning skills and learn to budget their time and set priorities for homework,” said principal Lisa Gray.

“They’re learning skills now that they would otherwise have had to wait until college to develop.”

Situated on 11 landscaped acres that boast one of the largest concentrations of historic 1920’s-era buildings in East Central Florida, Florida Prep offers a cozy home-away-from-home for students, whether they are there for the day or choose to board.
