Former Cocoa High Football Player Deundrell Turpin Found Dead in Merritt Island Home

Police was called to the scene by a nearby resident who told police the victim was injured

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office personnel are investigating after a man was found dead inside of his home on the 5900 block of Courtneay Parkway in Merritt Island.
According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office PIO Tod Goodyear, 20-year-old Deundrell Turpin of Cocoa was found deceased at a residence when officers arrived on scene at around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Police had been called to the scene by a nearby resident who told police the victim was injured, they say.
BCSO adds that investigators from its homicide and crime scene units responded to the scene as they sought to determine the circumstances surrounding Turpin’s death.
Turpin was a former football player at Cocoa High School.
