LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Former Cocoa Tiger Javian Hawkins made his 2019 college football debut for the Louisville Cardinals Monday night against No. 9 Notre Dame.
Hawkins’ best play came in the first quarter when he exploded for a 44-yard run against Notre Dame setting up a touchdown by QB Jawon Pass.
Hawkins, a redshirt-freshman, finished the night with 19 carries and 122-yards on the ground. Despite Hawkins’ great game, the Cardinals fell to No. 9 Notre Dame 35-17.
The Titusville native played in three games last year for the Cardinals before redshirting for the rest of the 2018 season.
As a high school player, Hawkins finished his career with over 4,000 yards rushing and over 40 touchdowns.
In Hawkins’ senior year with the Cocoa Tigers, he averaged 9.7 per carry and four touchdowns per game in the 2017 season.
One of Hawkins’ greatest runs was the 70-yard rushing touchdown against Bolles and helped the Tigers secure the 2016 State Championship. See Below:
