BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dr. Michael Sosinski, a board qualified foot and ankle surgeon, has joined the outstanding doctors at Merritt Island Foot and Ankle.

Dr. Sosinski practices evidence-based medicine, utilizing the latest conservative surgical techniques in the management of his patients’ lower extremity issues.

He specializes in elective foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, sports injuries, lower extremity trauma and comprehensive management of the diabetic foot.

In addition to Dr. Sosinski, the practice features three additional highly-trained podiatrists including Dr. Mark Beylin, DPM and Dr. Alexander F. San Diego, Jr., DPM who specialize in the medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Sosinski practices evidence-based medicine, utilizing the latest conservative surgical techniques in the management of his patients’ lower extremity issues. He specializes in elective foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, sports injuries, lower extremity trauma and comprehensive management of the diabetic foot.

Dr. Sosinski received his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida with a major in Biological Science and his medical education was completed at Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine.

He completed a three-year surgical residency training program in the Memorial Healthcare System, a Level 1 Trauma Center, in South Florida.

As chief resident, he completed extensive training in total joint replacement of the foot and ankle (TAR), advanced treatment of degenerative, traumatic, and congenital foot and ankle deformities in both adult and pediatric populations, as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques for the foot and ankle.

As a resident, he received the highest score nationally in both 2017 and 2018 on the American Board of Podiatric Medicine In-Training examination which is an exam comparing all of the podiatric residents in the country.

When Dr. Sosinski is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Mallory and their two dogs, Darcy and Tucker. He is also an avid angler and enjoys getting out on the water whenever possible.

“Our goal is always to provide you with the most comfortable office experience possible. We also specialize in foot care for diabetics and offer custom foot orthotics.

“Some common conditions we successfully treat everyday are bunions, heel pain, hammer toes, toenail fungus, Achilles tendonitis, ankle injuries and ingrown nails.”

Dr. Beylin attended and graduated from the University of Miami with a B.A. degree in 1995. After completing his undergraduate studies, he enrolled at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine where he excelled through the years earning a spot in Phi Delta National Honor Society and graduating in the top 10 percent of his class.

Dr. Beylin then did a three-year surgical training at Northwest Medical Center serving as chief resident the last two years there. His post-graduate training offered him a great deal of exposure to a vast variety of medical and surgical treatments of foot, ankle, and lower leg pathology.

His particular interests are in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, trauma, pediatrics, Charcot foot reconstruction, and diabetic foot care. Dr. Beylin is one of a few surgeons in Central Florida who is trained on both the In-Bone and STARR ankle joint replacement.

Dr. Beylin has been practicing in Brevard County for the last 20 years and is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Florida Podiatric Medical Association, American Podiatric Medical Association, and American Podiatric Practice Management Association.

Dr. San Diego received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He graduated in 2006 with a major in Biological Science.

He completed his medical education at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, which is now known as Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine in 2012.

From 2012 to 2015, Dr. San Diego began his post-graduate training at Palmetto General Hospital in Miami, Florida. During his intense surgical residency program at a level 2 Trauma hospital, Dr. San Diego gained knowledge and experience with trauma of lower extremity, reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, wound care, and sports medicine.

After completing his residency program, Dr. San Diego moved to Brevard County to join the esteemed practice of Merritt Island Foot and Ankle.

Dr. San Diego strives to provide patients with the highest level of attention and care. He specializes in surgical and conservative treatments of foot and ankle fractures, lower extremity trauma, reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, wound care, sports medicine, and many other conditions of the foot and ankle in children and adults.

He constantly attends conferences, workshops, and lectures around the country to stay current with the latest treatment techniques.
