UCF Knights Announce Future Home-and-Home Series Matchups With BYU, Boise State

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – The Cougars of BYU and the Broncos of Boise State are headed to the Bounce House.

Home-and-home series with both BYU and Boise State comprise scheduling announcements made today by UCF vice president and athletics director Danny White—with both programs slated to play a future game at UCF’s Spectrum Stadium.

Boise State teams have produced double-figure victory totals eight of the last 10 seasons, with 109 combined wins over that decade (not including 2019). Current head coach Bryan Harsin is 56-15 (4-0 in 2019 and ranked 15th by the coaches and 16th by the Associated Press this week) with at least nine wins in each of his five seasons, two Mountain West crowns and three bowl victories. Over the last three seasons alone (2016-17-18), Boise State has claimed 31 combined victories and finished in the final polls in both 2018 and 2017.

BYU has won at least eight games in seven seasons over the past decade. Competing as an independent since 2011, the Cougars have six bowl victories and 81 combined wins over those 10 years. The Cougars are 2-2 in 2019 with wins over Tennessee and USC.

“BYU and Boise State represent big-time strength-of-schedule games for our program based on their records and top-25 rankings in recent years. We are committed to continue to schedule attractive, meaningful football games both for our fans and student-athletes. BYU and Boise State are both power programs, and we’re proud to play them,” says White.

Here are details of upcoming UCF non-league schedules–with the games announced today in bold (all dates remain subject to change for television or other purposes):

UCF and Boise State will be meeting for the first time.

The Knights and BYU split two previous contests—with the Cougars winning 24-17 in Provo in 2011 and UCF prevailing 31-24 in overtime in Orlando in 2014.
