More than 10,000 Brevard County voters have already cast their ballots by mail ahead of Florida’s 2026 Primary Election on Tuesday, August 18.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – More than 10,000 Brevard County voters have already cast their ballots by mail ahead of Florida’s 2026 Primary Election on Tuesday, August 18.
Election data shows that 10,014 mail-in ballots have been returned countywide. Brevard County currently has 439,541 registered voters, meaning approximately 2.3% of the county’s electorate has voted by mail so far.
Republican voters account for the largest share of returned mail ballots, with 4,297 ballots cast, or approximately 42.9% of the total.
Democratic voters have returned 3,817 ballots, representing about 38.1% of mail ballots received.
Another 1,655 ballots, or 16.5%, have been submitted by voters with no party affiliation. Voters registered with other political parties have returned 245 ballots, accounting for approximately 2.4% of the total.
The mail-ballot breakdown is as follows:

No Party Affiliation: 1,655

Florida is a closed-primary state, meaning voters generally may participate only in the primary election of the political party with which they are registered.
However, all eligible voters may vote in nonpartisan contests and any primary contests open to all voters.
Voters planning to use a mail-in ballot should allow sufficient time for it to reach the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office.
Completed ballots must be received by the elections office by the applicable Election Day deadline to be counted.
The 2026 Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 18.
