BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Police Department loves welcoming new officers to their family and Chief Mike Cantaloupe recently swore in the newest member to join the ranks as Officer Salvatore Fogu took the oath of office in a special swearing-in ceremony.

Officer Fogu is originally from New Jersey and spent a few years working armed security in the private sector.

He spent four years as a substitute teacher and is the first person in his family to become a police officer.

“Officer Fogu will spend the next several months in training learning all of the policies and procedures in the department,” said Cocoa police officials.

“He will participate in the field training and evaluation program before being deployed to solo patrol.”

We wish him safety, good fortune and much success as he begins his new career.
