Florida Tech Soccer Falls To Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 2-0

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It was a heartbreaker in Melbourne as Florida Tech men’s soccer fell to Palm Beach Atlantic 2-0.
Both of the Sailfish goals came within the last five minutes of play.
Brandon Smalley had an amazing performance off the bench as he led Florida Tech in both shots (3) and shots on goal (2). Ellis Hudson (2) was the only other member of the Crimson and Gray that tallied multiple shots.
Jason Fesquet put in a decent effort as he corralled difficult three shots. But unfortunately the two goals he allowed were enough to give the Sailfish the win.
The first half was mostly dominated by the Panthers as the team outplayed PBA in all aspect which translated into some good opportunities but none of which were converted into a goal. This caused the score to be 0-0 as the game went into halftime.
The second half began similar to the first as the Panthers had a few more great scoring chances but were never quite dialed in and missed wide.
Those misses came back to haunt the team when an erred pass gave the Sailfish a clear chance on goal and they converted it with less than five minutes left in play. This caused Florida Tech to press the attack hard and that would come to backfire as a well-timed PBA counter attack also found its way into the back of the net with less than 15 seconds left on the clock which made it a 2-0 at the whistle.
Tech looks to learn from this loss and will refocus its energy for its away match against Tampa Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. ET.
