BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Joella’s Hot Chicken, a Louisville-based fast casual restaurant known for its hot chicken and made-from-scratch Southern side dishes, will open its first coastal Florida location in Melbourne at 6531 Lake Andrew Drive on October 22.

The Melbourne store will join two Tampa Bay-area locations that also opened within the last month.

“We’re excited to introduce our made-from-scratch menu and look forward to becoming part of the Space Coast community.”

As part of the grand opening, Joella’s Hot Chicken will award free hot chicken for a year to the first 100 people in line at 8 a.m.

Since 2015, Joella’s has been serving up a Southern-inspired menu that includes:

  • Hot chicken: All-natural, antibiotic and hormone-free chicken, brined to lock in the juiciness and flavor, is Joella’s specialty. Favorite menu items include Jumbo Tenders, Big Wings and Joella’s famous Chicken & Waffles. Joella’s also offers a vegan chicken option.
  • Heat levels: Joella’s serves its hot chicken with your choice of six unique heat levels: Southern (no heat), Spiked Honey (sweet and mild), Ella’s Fav (flavor with a little heat), Tweener (medium heat), Hot (fiery heat) and Fire-In Da-Hole (waiver-worthy).
  • Southern sides: Cooked in-store daily, these made-from-scratch side dishes include Creamy Mac & Cheese, Green Beans with Bacon, Sweet Vinegar Slaw, Parm Garlic Fries and Kale Crunch Salad.
  • Dippin sauces: Add extra flavor with Joella’s selection of Dippin’ Sauces, the perfect complement to any order. Popular flavors include Bama White, a true Southern sauce with hints of horseradish and lemon; JoJo Sauce, a mix of Cheerwine BBQ and Honey Mustard; and Pimento Ranchero, Joella’s homemade ranch dressing puréed with homemade pimento cheese.
  • Desserts: Bring down the heat with one (or two) of Joella’s sweet treats, including Nutella® Poppers, fried puff pastry filled with Nutella® and powdered sugar sprinkled on top; Banana Puddin’, a Southern classic; and Pie-In A-Jar, available in Cookies & Cream, Strawberry Shortcake and a seasonal flavor.
Joella’s Hot Chicken will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. (Joella’s Hot Chicken Facebook image)
