ABOVE VIDEO: The U.S. Coast Guard Station for Fort Myers Beach rescued a dog that was found swimming off the coast of Fort Myers Beach on Wednesday.

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA –The U.S. Coast Guard Station for Fort Myers Beach rescued a dog that was found swimming off the coast of Fort Myers Beach on Wednesday.

“While our crew was out underway for a night patrol, we received a call for a dog in distress swimming off Fort Myers Beach / Bowditch Point.”

It was at that moment that the professionals went to work to locate the dog. After finding the dog struggling in the water, Coast Guard officials safely brought the exhausted dog onto their boating vessel.

“Thanks to the crew’s expertise in intercepting non-compliant vessels (NCV) and recovering a person in the water (PIW), our “star” of the night was safely recovered and returned to her owner!”
