BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Wednesday myself, Cpl. Jay Martinez and Cpl. Pam Hibbs had the pleasure of reading to students at Harbor City Elementary in Melbourne as part of the school’s initiative to help students enjoy reading.

The students were extremely respectful and listened intently as I read “Tuesday Tucks Me In” a book that discusses the daily life and routines of an injured Soldier and his service dog, “Tuesday.”

After we concluded reading the book we had a chance for some questions and answers about the Sheriff’s Office and the many incredible things our members do to protect our community.

I would like to thank the Faculty and Teachers at Harbor City Elementary for inviting me to speak and also thank the kids for being so attentive during the time that we got to spend together!!

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
