DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s basketball ended its skid as they went up I-95 to Daytona Beach to take on Embry-Riddle. A couple of huge Panthers’ runs propelled them to victory over the Eagles, as the final score was 77-62.

Amanda Allen put together a masterful game as she recorded a double-double as she tied, Fanny Hakanson and Fanny Paulin, for a team-high 14 points and led the team in rebounds with 11.

November Morton and Makyla Daniels rounded out the double-digit scorers as they both had 10.

Paulin tallied the game-high in assists with six.

Florida Tech opened the game in a lull as they fell behind 2-9 only 2:05 into the contest. However, it quickly became 10-9 as the Panthers went on an 8-0 run that was highlighted by two, three balls from Allen.

An ERAU bucket briefly halted the run but the Panthers followed that with another 8-0 run which combined with the earlier streak made it 16-2 over the final 7:30. The women went back to the bench up 18-11.

At the beginning of the half, the baskets had a lid on them as the teams combined for only seven points in over four minutes. Unfortunately, the final half of the quarter was mostly in favor of the Eagles as they managed to tie it up at 33-33 as the game went into the half.

The second half begun with the teams trading momentum. This was the case for a majority of the period but in the final 1:07 of the third a 6-0, Tech run gave them the 57-52 lead as the game headed into the final period.

The Crimson & Gray and were on fire as the team opened the period on a 9-0 run with seven of the points coming from Paulin. ERAU broke up the run with a jumper and this lead to the two teams trading baskets.

That was the trend for the rest of the contest as the Panthers cruised to a 77-62 victory.

Florida Tech will enjoy the victory for the rest of the evening and then will turn its focus to Eckerd. This game will take place Wednesday, Jan. 8, and will tipoff at 5:30 p.m. ET in the Clemente Center.
