Lorenzo Lingard, formerly rated by recruiting services as a “5-star” running back prospect, announced on his Twitter that he’ll be transferring from Miami to Florida on Friday.
“I am truly blessed and thankful to be a Gator,” wrote Lingard in his post on Twitter. “The people who made this possible have changed my life. I am ready to do whatever it takes to become the best Gator as a team player and student-athlete. I know my dad is excited for this. I want to maximize everything.”
Lingard, according to stats from hurricanesports.com, carried the ball 17 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.
Lingard would have to sit out next season unless he were granted a waiver by the NCAA to play in 2020.
