BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPS! The Florida Prep Lady Falcons their second consecutive FHSAA Class 2A Basketball Championship by defeating Tallahasse 66-45 on Friday afternoon in Lakeland.

LAKELAND, FLORIDA – The Florida Prep Lady Falcons won their second consecutive FHSAA Class 2A Basketball Championship as they dominated Tallahasse 66-45 on Friday afternoon in Lakeland.

Emma Risch had the hot hand for the Falcons, pumping in 15 points. Paige McDonald scored 12 points and Shamya Joiner tallied 11, while Emani Burkshad pulled down 11 rebounds.

Risch, who was named MVP of the title game, has led the Falcons all season long and caps of a terrific freshman season with the state title win.

The Lady Falcons, led by head coach Emerson Murray, has only three Juniors on the roster and will return everyone to the team next season.

The Falcons finished the 2019-2020 season with a 24-7 record and reeled off 10 straight victories, culminating with their big win for the title.

Florida Prep cruised into the FHSAA Class 2A state championship game on Wednesday after they defeated Boca Raton Grandview Prep 66-37 in a state semifinal contest in Lakeland.
