St. Baldrick's has awarded more than $282 million to support lifesaving cancer research

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Avenue Viera announced that the 10th Annual St. Baldrick’s “Big Shave” will take place on March 14 from 12 – 5 p.m. in Central Park.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate 10 years of St. Baldrick’s here in Brevard,” said Michelle Reyes, The Avenue Viera’s Marketing Coordinator.
“To be a part of this life-changing fundraiser is an honor. We’re fighting to give kids afflicted with cancer a future and we couldn’t feel more blessed to be a part of that mission.”
The Big Shave raises funds for St. Baldrick’s Foundation by encouraging people to raise money to have their heads shaved at the event.
These shavees collect essential funds for childhood cancer research while also spreading awareness and supporting kids who have lost their hair during treatment.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer and donor powered charity that funds pediatric cancer research. St. Baldrick’s is the top private funder of childhood cancer research grants in the United States.
They have awarded more than $282 million to support lifesaving cancer research. Last year, the Foundation awarded Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando a $50,000 grant to use toward research and cancer care advancements (visit OrlandoHealth.com for more information).
