BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A teacher’s aide who works at Fieldston Preparatory School in Titusville faces charges after police say she sent explicit photos to a 16-year-old student at the school.
Lindsey Noel Thorson, 27, turned herself into the Brevard County Jail on Friday, according to a release from the Titusville Police Department.
Thorson faces charges of transmission of materials harmful to minors and tampering with evidence.
Police say an investigation revealed that a faculty member was notified of the allegations by a student but police were notified by a parent about the alleged incidents.
“This case provides an important reminder that school officials, by law, are mandatory reporters of suspected abuse, regardless of whether they believe the allegations or not,” said TPD lead detective Jessica Cabrera.
Thorson was booked into the Brevard County Jail on a $4,000 bond.
