BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – weVENTURE, the women’s business center in Florida Tech’s Bisk College of Business, has decided that out of an abundance of caution, the 2020 Women Who Rock Awards in honor of Women’s History Month will be postponed.

The luncheon was scheduled for March 24 at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront in Melbourne.

New potential dates have been identified for later in the year and will be announced when one is confirmed. All existing event registrations will be honored at that time. More information will be forthcoming.

“The annual Women Who Rock celebration is an opportunity to come together as a community to recognize some of our community’s finest female leaders,” said weVENTURE Executive Director Kathryn Rudloff.

“However, we must prioritize the health and wellbeing of our entire community and delay this celebration.

“We are so grateful to the Crowne Plaza of Melbourne for their flexibility and thank all the event sponsors and guests who have already purchased tickets for the event. We look forward to coming together later this year and paying tribute to our 2020 nominees.”

“weVENTURE will continue to be a resource for small-business owners who are facing uncertainty during the coming weeks,” Williams continued.

“Additionally, we encourage everyone to follow the guidance of federal, state and local governments, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. weVENTURE will share information from the U.S. Small Business Administration about any potential policy changes that may impact local businesses we serve.”
