NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR: A line of showers and thunderstorms continues to move southward into theSpace Coast. Light rainfall, with embedded strong thunderstorms, will continue over the next couple of hours behind the line. Lightning, heavy downpours and gusty winds will remain possible.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecast for Brevard County on Friday calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 a.m.

Some of the storms could be severe as temperatures are forecast to be high near 87.

The forecast also calls for a windy day, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light south southwest in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11 pm and 3 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: A slight chance of thunderstorms, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 81. North wind around 5 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
