BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Board of Trustees at Eastern Florida State College will vote next week to approve a contract with ASM Global to manage the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts.

The Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, Florida presents a variety of performing arts and entertainment events. A direct-support organization of Eastern Florida State College, the King Center is a not-for-profit organization.
The King Center opened its doors in 1988 and has had a profound impact on the cultural and artistic landscape of Brevard County.
The recently remodeled 126,000-square-foot facility includes a 2,016-seat performing arts hall, 250-seat Studio Theatre, art display areas, dance studios and rehearsal halls. In addition, the facility is available for meetings, weddings, business functions, graduations and other private events.
World-renowned artists regularly perform on the King Center’s stage. The facility also plays an important role in the college’s performing arts program hosting student concerts.
Should this contract be ratified, it will provide more and bigger shows that could come to the King Center as ASM Global will be able to include the King Center in its routing of artists as they travel through the state.
