LEAD Brevard Names FPL’s Bart Gaetjens 2020 Distinguished Leadership Alumni Award Winner

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – LEAD Brevard has announced the recipient of the 2020 Leadership Brevard Distinguished Leadership Alumni Award, Bart Gaetjens, Area External Affairs Manager for Florida Power & Light Company and a 2016 Leadership Brevard graduate.
His resume includes leadership capacities to over twenty community organizations including service on LEAD Brevard’s Board of Directors since 2015 and committee leadership.
His board service includes non-profit organizations whose missions include: education, economic development, nature & health.
In addition, he serves as a board member on two local chambers and acts as a liaison to four other chambers and is an officer of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast.
The Leadership Brevard Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes an individual whose contributions through exceptional leadership have made a difference in Brevard County.
The award is presented to an alumnus of Leadership Brevard who has emerged as a community leader, demonstrated professional and personal leadership excellence, and has made a positive impact on our community. The nominee may have exhibited his/her leadership in a voluntary capacity or in the exercise of his/her employment.
The criteria include Vision, Innovation, Courage, Inspiration and Furthers the LEAD Brevard mission: Working together to strengthen our community by inspiring people to lead.
Eligible nominees must live and/or work in Brevard County and be a graduate of the Leadership Brevard program (1986 – 2019).

LEAD Brevard was founded in 1985 and is a nonprofit organization whose mission is “Working together to inspire people to lead.”
The organizations’ flagship program Leadership Brevard sees sixty local leaders engaged from September through April developing professional networks, in dialogue about key county and regional issues, and exploring opportunities for increased civic involvement.
A newer program, Leadership Essentials, was developed in 2018 to meet the leadership skills development needs of the area’s high-potential leaders.
