BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office along with the Board of County Commissioners and our Public Safety partners continue to monitor the storm projections of Hurricane Isaias.

As a result of a potential impact to Brevard County, the Sheriff’s Office will be distributing sandbags (at no cost) to our citizens, today and Saturday, at five different locations throughout Brevard County.

In an effort to expedite the process, we will be using inmate labor to fill and load the sandbags directly into our citizen’s vehicles at the five different locations.

This will be conducted under the direct supervision of the Sheriff’s Office employees. Each vehicle can obtain up to 10 free sandbags so they can help prepare and protect their homes and businesses.

The five locations will be open for distribution today, 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and tomorrow, Saturday, August 1, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. or until supplies are gone.
