BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested 33-year-old Jeffrey Schindel of Melbourne after he traveled to a location in Brevard County expecting to meet a minor child for the purpose of having sexual relations.

Schindel was taken into custody and charged with Traveling to Meet a Minor after Using a Computer to Lure a Child.

The investigation began on June 30, 2020, after the Sheriff’s Office received information that Schindel was sending inappropriate messages to a minor.

An agent with the Sheriff’s SORT Unit acting in an uncover capacity as a minor child made contact with Schindel on a social media platform.

As the conversations continued between Schindel and the undercover agent, Schindel asked the agent who he believed to be a minor to engage in sexual activity.
