CARES Act Assistance Available for Palm Bay Residents Financially Impacted by COVID-19

Applications for assistance will be accepted from August 10 through August 28

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay City Council voted on Thursday to accept an additional allocation of $342,255 in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to assist qualified residents who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible uses for the funding include rental and mortgage payment assistance and related counseling, utility payment assistance, emergency repairs, and housing rehabilitation.
Applications for assistance will be accepted from August 10 through August 28, 2020, or until all funding is expended.
Eligible residents must be at or below 120% of the area median income and facing financial hardship due to COVID-19, such as unemployment or underemployment.
Qualified applicants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications for assistance will be made available through the City of Palm Bay Housing & Community Development Division office located at 120 Malabar Road SE, by calling 321-726-5633 or by emailing hcdinfo@palmbayflorida.org
Paper applications will be available at the following locations:

▪ Evans Center – 1363 Florida Avenue NE
▪ Franklin T. Degroodt Public Library – 6475 Minton Road SE
▪ Palm Bay Public Library – 1520 Port Malabar Boulevard NE
All funding must be expended by December 30, 2020, and will be administered by the City of Palm Bay’s Housing & Community Development Division.
