Titusville Police SWAT Team Arrests Hit-and-Run Suspect Galvin Lemazia Ware After Standoff

Galvin Lemazia Ware, 25, was arrested by Titusville police officers in connection with the September 22 hit and run, which left the victim lying in the road with life-threatening injuries.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Galvin Lemazia Ware, 25, was arrested by Titusville police officers in connection with the September 22 hit and run, which left the victim lying in the road with life-threatening injuries.

“At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday, the Titusville Police SWAT team entered a residence on Warren Court and took the suspect into custody, only after several hours of standoff with police, in which the suspect refused to exit the residence,” said Titusville Police Public Information Officer Amy Matthews.

Lemazia Ware, of Titusville, was charged with, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Leaving the Scene of a Crash without Rendering Aid Involving Serious Bodily Harm, Robbery with Force and Driving with a Suspend/Revoked/Cancelled License Causing Serious Bodily Harm.

According to Matthews, the preliminary investigation revealed the suspect drove over the adult male victim in an unidentified white four-door sedan and fled the scene in the area of Wager Avenue and Union Street.

“Investigative evidence, including the surveillance photo of the vehicle released to the public by detectives, later identified as 2002 white Hyundai Sonata, ultimately led to the identity and subsequent arrest warrant issued for the suspect,” said Matthews.

Ware is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.

The yet to be identified hit-and-run victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
