BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to a mobile fire on Saturday afternoon morning on Merrit Island in which two of the four dogs inside the home did survive.

Brevard County Fire Rescue officials said Engine 40 was on the scene and made quick work of the fire before it destroyed the home.

“Thanks to the quick actions of your Brevard County Firefighters, and a donation of pet oxygen masks from Invisible Fence, two dogs were saved,” said BCFR officials.

“Unfortunately, two dogs did not make it out alive.”
