BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Family Promise of Brevard has been awarded one of forty, $25,000 grants from the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program.

Each year, the State Farm Neighborhood Assist awards over one million dollars to non-profit organizations.

Family Promise of Brevard was selected as one of 200 nominees nationwide to compete for a State Farm Neighborhood Assist Grant.

Each nominee was tasked with promoting their cause and message by gather votes from the public for their candidacy.

Due to the overwhelming support received by way of votes supporting our organization, Family Promise of Brevard was selected by State Farm to receive $25,000 that will directly help strengthen the organization’s community through homelessness prevention programs.

The money awarded through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program directly impacts our Prevention and Stabilization programs.

The effects of COVID-19 on the economy have shown a 450 percent increase in requests for services since this same time last year and we know the days ahead will continue to be an uphill battle for many.

The organization’s Prevention and Stabilization programs were created to help at-risk families by providing case management, short term financial support, and opportunities for job training, healthcare, childcare, and housing.

“It really validates our work on the front line during the pandemic. We’re so thankful to State Farm for donating $1 million dollars to support causes across the country, and for creating the mechanism to give Brevard County neighbors a very tangible way to help our neighbors right now.”

The mission of the Family Promise of Brevard is to help at-risk families experiencing a housing crisis achieve self-sufficiency and lasting independence.
