Incident happened around the 6000 block of Pinewood Drive

Palm Bay Police have lifted a Shelter-in-Place order on Tuesday after residents in the area of Pinewood Drive on the north side of Palm Bay Road near the Cristal Palace Senior Living Resort were asked to shelter in place .

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police have lifted a Shelter-in-Place order on Tuesday after residents in the area of Pinewood Drive on the north side of Palm Bay Road near the Cristal Palace Senior Living Resort were asked to shelter in place.

Palm Bay Police say they have a suspect in custody after reports of shots fired in the 6000 block of Pinewood Drive.

The activity drew a heavy police presence on Tuesday as authorities worked to secure the scene and take the suspect into custody.

“Residents in the area should anticipate an ongoing law enforcement presence in the area for the remainder of the afternoon while investigations are concluded,” said Palm Bay Police in a released statement.

The identity of the suspect has not yet been released by police.
