Former Astronaut Football Coach, Teacher at Eau Gallie High School Randy Hallock Dies at 56

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Robert Randy Hallock 56, of Titusville, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020.

He was a long-time Astronaut High School football coach and former teacher at Eau Gallie High School.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Randy Hallock,” said Brevard Public Schools in a released statement.

“He is known for his positive impact on the young people he served during his years with us. Our thoughts are with the Hallock family and our students and staff at both Astronaut High and Eau Gallie High as they mourn this loss.”

Current football head coach at Eau Gallie High School Chris Sands reacted to the news devastating news and released the following statement.

“Such a sad day (in) Brevard County. Coach, you touched so many lives. Your legacy will never be forgotten. RIP Coach Hallack,” said Coach Sands.

Hallock retired from coaching at Astronaut High School in 2016. Over his 19-year career, the War Eagles won 5 district championships and 133 games during his tenure.

In 2000, he led Astronaut to the Class 3A runner-up title. He also coached Astronaut High School soccer where they earned 13 postseason bids.

Members of the community reacted to the sad news.

Hallock is survived by his three loving sons; Randy “Bucky” Hallock and his wife Kasey, Hunter Hallock and his wife Danielle, and Micah Hallock, two grandsons Karter and Mason Hallock, mother Donna Hallock, brother Scott Hallock, sister Sheryl Hallock Matthieu and sister Kim Landers.
