BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Firefighters Local 2969 will host its 5th Annual Firefighters Chili Cookoff on Sunday, January 31.

The festivities will include a fun afternoon of fellowship, sampling homemade chili that will be competing for Brevard County’s best recipe among all local Firefighters.

This event is inviting Firefighters–cooks from all municipalities in Brevard County and the proceeds and sponsorship contributions will be shared between the Brevard County Firefighters Benevolent Association and Family Promise of Brevard.

Both charities are local groups that aid and support citizens in the community.

The Brevard County Firefighter Benevolent Association works to support local firefighters and family members who need assistance due to sickness, injury or catastrophic events.

The organization also provides financial resources to charitable associations that aid and assist the needy in Brevard County.

Family Promise of Brevard is a Space Coast charity that wants to end family homelessness in Brevard County by collaborating with our community to provide families the support and resources they need to put themselves on a path towards long-term housing stability.

“This will be a great opportunity to come out and join both county and municipality firefighters, friends, families and Brevard County citizens for a fun afternoon of community fellowship and sampling some of the best chili recipes in the county,” said event organizer Christy Fleming.
