Millennials enjoy playing games like most generations do. Gaming is a huge hobby with many thousands of people around the world participating in different types of games.
Some of the gaming industries are experiencing a real boom right now such as the online casino industry and the video game industry.
ESA 2019 study
The ESA conducted a study in 2019 of gamers from all across the United States. It revealed that male and female Millennials had different interests when it came to the games that they liked to play. This will probably not come as a surprise to you.
Male Millennials preferred to play casino games, sports games, shooter games and action games and preferred to play the video games on a games console rather than online. They were happy to play casino games online though either with their computer or mobile device.
Female Millennials liked different kinds of video games such as puzzles, racing games, party games and some casino games. The study found that most female Millennials preferred to use their smartphone to play all of the different games.
Millennials also like other types of activities
The ESA study also concluded that both male and female Millennials liked to do other things such as writing, playing chess, playing backgammon and other board games, singing and painting. Not everything they do for fun revolves around a gaming console or playing other games online with their smartphones and computers.
It was interesting to see that Generation X (Gen X) people had slightly different gaming tastes. They really liked to play casino games such as slot machines, poker and blackjack. It was much more likely for a Gen X to play their favorite games on a smartphone rather than a games console.
The rise of the iGaming industry
The iGaming industry which provides online casino games such as slots and blackjack has grown significantly over the last few years. More and more people, including Millennials, are using online casinos than ever before and one of the reasons for this is that they offer such a wide variety of games to play.
