Cocoa Beach Minutemen Football Program Hires Ben Waldrop as New Head Coach

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Ben Waldrop was named the new head coach of the Cocoa Beach High School football team after the Minuteman posting an 0-8 season in 2020.

“Excited to announce that our new head football coach is Ben Waldrop,” said Cocoa Beach Principal Mark Rendell. Ben has been coaching in the area for several years and can definitely teach the game.

“He will also be a great role model and mentor for our young men.”

Some of Waldrop’s accolades across Brevard County Schools include defensive coordinator at Merritt Island High School, serving as the second head coach in Viera High School football history in 2008 and was the linebackers coach for Rockledge High last season.

Former Minuteman Head Coach Greg Underwood resigned at the conclusion of the 2020 season.
