BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Chain Gang started to work this week on operation “Clean Sweep,” which is designed to keep all of our beautiful Brevard County roadways clean from trash and debris.
Operation “Clean Sweep” started Monday at the county line on State Road 520 and worked east toward the City of Cocoa.
Once that roadway is completed, the team will head to the Pineda Causeway area and then continue throughout the county making certain that all of our roadways are representative of the beautiful community we are so proud of.
While the incredible team and volunteers of “Keep Brevard Beautiful” do an amazing job at keeping our community clean, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Chain Gang is actively involved in cleaning our roadways while also working on a significant number of projects throughout the county that save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
In fact, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Chain Gang and Inmate Work Crews collectively saved Brevard County Taxpayers approximately $288,000 last year in labor costs on all types of projects from cleaning roadways to construction, to landscaping.
If you know of an area on public property in our community that needs their attention please send us a personal message on our Facebook Page so we can get the info to our crew supervisors.
Also, if you would like to volunteer or help out the amazing team at “Keep Brevard Beautiful” you can visit their website at KeepBrevardBeautiful.org and click on the volunteer link.
Please join me in thanking the members of the Chain Gang for a job well done and for doing their part to help keep our community clean.
