Titans shot a 300 in the final round

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s golf team placed 12th in the Space Coast Collegiate Championships at Duran Golf Club Tuesday.

The Titans shot a 300 in the final round and finished the three-day tournament with a 913.

Lynn University won the event, shooting 6-under 858 for the tournament. Barry University was second and the University of Tampa finished third.

Sophomore Drew Lanier shot a 75 on Tuesday to finish tied for 24th overall. Teammate Matt Gauntlett finished tied for 51st after shooting a 72 in the final round, while John Houchin shot a 75 and Brandon Boncore shot a 78 to both finish in a tie for 58th. Ryan McMillan finished with an 82.

The Eastern Florida State College men’s team, who is ranked fifth in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, will compete in the Barry Buccaneer Invitational on April 5-6.

“Just a tough three days. Good comeback by Matt (Gauntlett) today but we just did not play well overall,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said.
