Melbourne Police Special Investigation Unit Arrests Three After Street Level Prostitution Sweep

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department Special Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Cocoa Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, conducted a proactive enforcement operation last Friday targeting street level prostitution throughout the City of Melbourne.
According to Melbourne Police Lt. Scott Mostert, detectives were utilized in an undercover capacity posing as both a person who engages in prostitution, commonly referred to as a “John,” and also posing as working prostitutes to arrest suspected “Johns.”
“In total, one female and two males were arrested for attempting to solicit sex in exchange for cash from an undercover detective,” said Lt. Mostert.
Two arrests were made in the area of Riverview Park and one arrest was made on W.H. Jackson Street.
“Thanks to the Cocoa Police Department for their assistance by providing Cocoa PD detectives for this operation,” said Lt. Mostert.
The individuals arrested include 51-year-old Sandra Mistele, who was charged with Felony Prostitution (more than 2 previous arrests) and Possession of Paraphernalia; Keith Moore, 55, who was charged with Solicitation for Prostitution; and Donald Roy Campnell, 79, who was charged with Solicitation for Prostitution.
