recognized for commitment to traffic safety and for the continued support of the Space Coast TPO
BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization Bicycle Pedestrian Trails Advisory Committee selected Palm Bay Police Department as a recipient of the 2020 Enforcement award.
The award nomination stated the following:
The Palm Bay Police Department is being recognized for its commitment to traffic safety and for the continued support of the Space Coast TPO outreach efforts.
Recently, the Palm Bay Police Department shifted to a renewed focus on traffic safety, with an emphasis on pedestrians.
By concentrating patrol and enforcement activities in high crash areas, the Palm Bay Police Department is hoping to make the streets of Palm Bay safer to everyone but especially the most vulnerable road users, pedestrians.
In addition, we would like to recognize Palm Bay Police Department for helping the Space Coast TPO get farther reach on meeting notices and safety messages distributed through our social media channels. We appreciate them for consistently sharing our digital content. It is this type of hard work and cooperation that will greatly help Brevard County get to that goal of Zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
We would also like to thank Traffic Officer Pidgeon for his efforts in working with the Space Coast TPO over the last 4 years with this initiative. Because of a PED/BIKE Grant, our agency and officers have been able to receive additional funding and resources to help educate our pedestrians and bicyclists.
