Ron DeSantis held a press conference on Monday to announce that he will sign an executive order to open COVID vaccinations in Florida for K-12 teachers, law enforcement and firefighters 50+ & older. It was also announced that Florida is expecting 175,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot as soon as this week.

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference on Monday to announce that he will sign an executive order to open COVID vaccinations in Florida for K-12 teachers, law enforcement and firefighters 50+ & older.

He also announced that Florida is expecting 175,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot as soon as this week.

DeSantis urged the public not to be discouraged by the 66% overall effectiveness of the vaccine, “It’s 100% effective against death and hospitalization – particularly after the 28 days with the hospitalization,” said DeSantis.
