BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Special Investigations Unit arrested a 39-year-old woman for attempting to solicit sex in exchange for cash from an undercover detective.

According to Melbourne Police Lt. Scott Mostert, Louisa Malmberg was arrested in the area of Main Street and Church Street on the evening of June 29.

“On Tuesday, June 29, the Melbourne Police Department Special Investigations Unit conducted a proactive enforcement operation targeting street-level prostitution throughout the city of Melbourne,” said Lt. Mostert.

“During this operation, detectives were utilized in an undercover capacity, posing as a person who engages in prostitution, commonly referred to as a ‘John.’ ”

Malmberg has been charged with Felony Prostitution, which entails more than two previous arrests, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
