BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Joseph H. Gooch passed away on June 28 from heart failure. Joe was a devoted husband, supportive father, adoring grandfather and lifelong friend to many.

Joe grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before following his dreams to Florida, where he was a State Farm agent for 32 years. Summers were spent traveling in his RV around the country or in Colorado, his home away from home.

His passion for Florida Gators football was dwarfed only by fishing at Lake Blue Cypress.

His welcoming presence brought many a joyful hour relaxing on the porch with his ever-growing circle of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Jean Gooch, his sister, Beth Chiles, daughters Jennifer Castleberry (Don), Amy Clark (Mike), and Julie Keener (Brett), and grandchildren Daphne, Max, Katie, Daniel, Kirby, Ruby, and Sydney.

A private memorial will be held in the future.
